Measure Your Success With Precision Using Our InBody Composition Scanner

What does the number on your scale really represent? A regular scale can be a valuable tool in any weight-loss journey. It can tell you where you started and help you track your progress over time.  As useful as the scale can be, don't forget that when you step on a scale, you can’t see how much muscle or fat you have.  All you see is how heavy you weigh. It's entirely possible for those numbers not to budge, even though you've been working out and eating healthy for a week. or even longer. When used too often, the scale can drive you crazy! Especially if your main goal is weight loss. If you find yourself weighing in often (multiple times per day or every day of the week), you're not doing yourself any favors. There are times when weight fluctuates, and it's important to remember that the scale does not tell the whole story.

What Is InBody?

The InBody Scale is a machine that measures body composition through a method called bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). The BIA method sends a small alternating current through the body that allows for highly accurate measurements of a person’s body fat as well as water, lean mass, overall weight, and more. The InBody test is a non-invasive body composition analysis that provides a detailed breakdown of your weight in terms of muscle, fat, and water. It's a quick and easy way to see where you stand and help you and your trainer identify the next steps to get you in the best shape ever! The InBody Scale has not only improved how we measure weight but also how we measure body fat, water retention, muscle mass, and their distribution throughout your body. More importantly, all this knowledge gives you the power to make better decisions to help you get closer to your fitness goals.

Don't let those numbers on a regular scale and daily fluctuations discourage you or get you too excited when it comes to weight loss. At FITZONE, we offer our active training members one Inbody Scan per month and our regular members one free scan during their Welcome Workout. Our InBody scales will show you what your weight really represents.  The InBody will also track changes for you over time, giving you a better overall picture of your progress. We recommend hopping on our InBody scale at least once per month to get a pulse of where you're at. If you are someone who likes the scale, use your scale as a guide, not the definitive standard of success. Try to only weigh yourself on a regular scale once or twice a week and make sure you do it at the same time of day.

What to expect during an InBody Scan

The InBody testing process is completely non-invasive and only takes a couple of minutes. First, you will be asked to wipe your feet and hands with a wipe, this will help the InBody Scale obtain an accurate reading. Once you’re ready, you can step onto the InBody Scale with no shoes. Your height, age, and gender will be entered into the machine. Next, you will need to hold the hand sensors on either side of the machine with your arms outstretched at about waist level with your thumbs on the sensors. That’s all there is to it! Once the InBody Scale has completed its reading, you will receive a detailed printout explaining your unique body composition analysis, like the one below. The trainer who conducts this for you can help you understand what all the data means. You can also download the InBody app to track your progress over time!

To get the most accurate reading, InBody testing should be done at least 3 hours after eating or exercising, and you should maintain your typical fluid intake the day before. Make sure you remove any heavy objects such as jewelry, belts, jackets, phones, or wallets before stepping onto the InBody Scale.

It's crazy how much information I got from my scan. It helped me create a baseline for my fitness goals and program.
